The Organisation of Professional Associations (OPA) will expose
hidden fields of professional career paths to the younger generation
through the Education and Career Fair 2005 to be held at the Sri Lanka
Exhibition and Convention Centre (SLECC) from May 12 to 15.
President OPA H. H. Subasinghe said the OPA has thirty nine
professional bodies under its membership and they will have stalls at
the exhibition to explain to the participants about each profession and
on how to get qualified and their future prospects etc.
The Company of Master Mariners, International Group of Hotel and
Catering, Institute of Quantity Surveyors, Council of Archaeologists are
some of the hidden professions that high salaried job opportunities are
available but our younger generation select only few common professions
as they are unaware of the new opportunities.
Therefore this exhibition will pave the way for those who look for
new pathways, Subasinghe said. The exhibition is positioned to help both
education and recruitment sectors.
It will be an unique gathering of the entire gamut of academic,
professional learning, training and facilitators reaching out to the
diverse market of knowledge seekers further extending to a highly
conducive platform for recruitment agencies, foreign employment agencies
to source for talents in a huge pool of potential job applicants from
fresh graduates to those already in the workforce.
The exhibition facilitates students and parents to assess the
educational opportunities and potential available in varied fields
whilst job seekers could fulfil their career aspirations free of charge.
OPA has organised this exhibition for the sixth year and over 150
local and foreign exhibitors will participate in this which is sponsored
by American College of Higher Education, Asia Pacific institute of
Information Technology and the Chartered Institute of Management. |
