Lanka attends Interpol conference in Hong Kong

The International Police Organisation, Interpol, conducted a
conference of heads of Police Training with the participation of seventy
countries including Sri Lanka in Hong Kong recently.
The conference titled "15th Symposium of Heads of Police Training"
held in Hong Kong co-hosted by Interpol and Hong Kong Police.
Interpol Secretary General Ronald K. Noble and Head of the Hong Kong
Police, Commissioner LEE Ming-Kwai also participated at the Symposium.
The theme of the training Symposium this year was "Building a learning
Community," said DIG Victor Perera.
Sri Lanka was represented at the Symposium by DIG Victor Perera, who
is in charge of the Police Personnel, Recruitment and Basic Training,
along with Kalutara Police College, Director Senior SP Ananda
Hettiarachchi.
DIG Victor Perera and Senior SP Ananda Hettiarachchi met Interpol
Secretary General Ronald K. Noble and Commissioner LEE Ming-Kwai during
the Symposium and exchanged souvenirs.
Over 230 delegates from 70 countries participated at the Symposium.
The conference provided opportunities for networking and sharing
experiences with each other helping countries to improve and develop
Police training in their respective countries, said DIG Victor Perera. |
