Caltex commissions new filling line

Caltex Lubricants Lanka Limited commissioned its fully automated new Filling Line at its blending plant in Kolonnawa recently. The automation will allow the company to handle one liter and half a liter pack sizes in reply to the increased demand of the market.

The new improvements would enable the line to produce 2,000 cans of 1 liter per hour and 2,200 cans of half a liter per hour as opposed to 720 and 840 cans produced earlier for these respective pack sizes. To maintain enhanced competitive advantage to produce products at low costs, to the market, the organisation does not invest in high value assets. Instead the company will look at cost reductions in making available local expertise and know how.

"This would not have been possible if not for the knowledge, dedication and expertise of our staff at Caltex and the local companies", stated General Manager Supply Manufacture and Distribution Gamini Bandaranayake.
