IDB to set-up 1,000 new industrial units

The Ministry of Small and Rural Industries and the Ceylon Industrial
Development Board through its network provincial and district offices
assisted by the other divisions will promote and assist Small and Medium
Industry Entrepreneurs to establish 1,000 new industrial units in order
to generate more employment in the regions during 2005. The Ministry
will spend Rs. 5.5 million for this purpose.
Meanwhile the existing industries are provided with new technology,
marketing, information and management inputs necessary for the expansion
of 1,500 units during 2005.
The Industrial Development Board will assist to find additional
investment for these units to grow and generate more employment
opportunities for this project ministry will spend 9.25 million rupees.
The Ceylon Industrial Development Board assist in developing
entrepreneurial skill and effective management system through Awareness
Programs, Business Creation Programs. Improve Your Business Programs (IYB)
and Productivity Improvement Programs (for entrepreneurs). |
