National Youth Orchestra performs at
President’s House


The National Youth Orchestra and Chorus (NYO) gave a special performance at the President’s House on Sunday evening. The ensemble of schoolchildren from all parts of the country entertained the VIP audience to impressive orchestral and choral arrangements ranging from Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture to Danno Budunge. The NYO was established in 1992 with Japanese Government assistance. Over 600 students from schools around the country have received training under the NYO in all orchestral instruments. Among the invited guests at the concert were members of the Diplomatic corps and senior officials of the Ministry of Education.
