NSB launches 'Rana Viru Dudaru Hapan'

National Saving Bank (NSB) in collaboration with Rana Viru Seva Authority (RVSA) has set up 'Rana Viru Dudaru Hapan' Scholarship Account for children of service personnel. The MOU in this regard was signed at the NSB head office yesterday.

As an initial deposit for year 2005 RVSA will deposit Rs.8.4 million to the NSB 'Rana Viru Dudaru Hapan' Scholarship Account which will benefit 2000 children from all districts.

General Manager/CEO of NSB E. Narangoda said that this was not a normal scholarship program.

"When these children grow up they can invest these funds in any other business if they are not interested in higher studies" he added.

"Our main objective is to ensure the future well being of the children of service personnel and help them in their higher education, said Chairman of RVSA Major General H.N.W Neil Dias.
