Tamilselvan, six others on European tour

LTTE political wing leader S. P. Thamilselvan and six other LTTE members will be flown to Colombo today in an Air Force copter to leave on a tour of scandinavian and EU countries to canvass support for the proposed tsunami relief joint mechanism, diplomatic sources said. LTTE leaders P. Nadesan, I. Pararajasingham (Para), LTTE Peace Secretariat Chief S. Pulidevan, Thamilselvan and three others are in the team.

They are expected to begin their tour from Norway and travel to Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark, and several EU countries, the sources revealed. LTTE spokesman Daya Master confirmed the tour, but declined to reveal the countries the team will be visiting or when they will return to the country citing security reasons.

The organisation's theoretician Anton Balasingham is also expected to join the team.
