At SLIIT, prior to embarking on the degree program,
students are provided with foundation courses designed to improve their
communication skills, mathematical skills and computer skills.

streams and the course in computer skills provides the basic computer
skills to those who need assistance prior to the commencement of the
B.Sc. degree programme.
The course in communication skills is intended to
improve the reading, writing, listening and speaking abilities in
English as all SLIIT programs are conducted in the English medium. The
foundation courses are usually conducted during the months of October,
November and December and contribute heavily towards a successful
beginning of the degree programme starting in January.
SLIIT contributes towards national development with its
academic programs for professionals, public officials, schools teachers,
service personnel and others to make them more effective in their
performance in a global IT environment.
The institute has already completed an important
