JWT steals the show at SLIM 2005
J. Walter Thompson, the name that ruled the world of
advertising for an amazing 140 years was finally put to rest as the
brand spanking new JWT was born on February 28, 2005.
JWT Sri Lanka barely had enough time to recover from the
excitement of their re-launch on March 4 when on the very next day they
stole the show at the SLIM awards 2005 by winning the Campaign of the
Year award.
Suntel WOW, the winning campaign came as the icing on
the cake after an astounding 21 awards just before it. JWT's new birth
was in perfect time for their victory as their round off of awards
included eight Gold, eight Silver and six Bronze. JWT competed with 798
entries overall with 600 entries in the Main Advertising Categories and
198 entries in the Integrated Marcom Categories.
"It was an amasing strike rate for us to be nominated
over 40 times in the top five of each category and win 22 awards with
just 86 entries overall." says Neelanie Goonetilake, the President of
JWT.
JWT hopes to carry their new legacy to much higher
ground and they see this amasing victory as a magnificent beginning to
their new world order. |
