Ruchira hat-trick troubles NCP

Paceman Ruchira Perera produced a hostile spell of bowling to claim a five wicket haul including a hattrick as North Central Province were dismissed for 175 runs in their first innings on the opening day of the 4-day inter provincial cricket tournament final against Central Province played at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium yesterday.

However Central Province in reply also struggled for runs as they reached 81 for 4 with Nuwan Kulasekera picking up all four wickets.

Ruchira Perera captured the last three wickets in the North Central Province innings in successive deliveries and finished with excellent figures of 5 for 54.

Earlier Kumar Dharmasena hit a top score of 42 with six fours and figured in a face saving seventh wicket partnership of 89 runs with Upul Chandana after North Central Province had collapsed to 83 for 6 during the second session. Priyankara Silva did the early damage with 3 for 32 and Chamila Gamage captured two wickets.
