JVP will never leave Government, says Minister

by L. B. Wijayasiri in Kandy

The dream of power hungry politicians of the Opposition and a section of the private media that the JVP would leave the government would never become a reality, said Agriculture, Livestock Development, Lands and Irrigation Minister Anura Kumara Dissanayake.

The Freedom Alliance was formed on April 4, 2004 when the people kept their confidence and hope that the commitments of the Alliance would be fulfiled. The freedom Alliance will continue until the hopes and aspirations of the people are fulfiled, he said.

Addressing the media after opening a milk producing village at Mahawatta in Kundasale under the Ministry's program of establishing milk producing villages, Dissanayake said power hungry politicians of the opposition were dreaming that the JVP would leave the government and the government would collapse so that they could grab power.

A section of the private media also continues to carry false propaganda, the Minister said.

Dissanayake said the Alliance would never collapse.

The people voted the Freedom Alliance into power at the last general elections with the hope of getting their problems solved and to get their aims and aspirations fulfiled, he said. The JVP will not leave the Alliance, he said.
