CCC assists exporters to meet European market standards The competitiveness and dynamics of the European market have left many exporters facing new challenges. Exporters are required to be informed of the market standards on safety and quality, packaging and environment. To help meet this requirement, the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (CCC) will join hands with the Centre for promotion of Imports from developing countries (CBI Netherlands), in assisting companies in their marketing of engineering products to the EU market. CBI Netherlands has developed a highly practical export development program, specifically for the marketing of engineering products. CBI will launch this program in association with the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, at 1. 30 p.m. on March 1, 2005. CBI's export development program dedicated towards increasing exports to the European market and improving the individual exporters business stand will draw from the expertise of independent consultants, who have widespread networking capabilities throughout the Europe. Those enrolling for the program are guaranteed high quality, specialised and up-to-date content. The product categories include drives and transmissions, handling equipment and systems, hydraulics, pneumatics and tooling. This program which provides individual support over a number of years by means of on-site consultancy, training schemes, market information, trade fair participation and business-to-business activities will also assist in obtaining support on product and production improvement, quality control, export marketing and market entry.
