Peterites in 7 wkt win over Thomians

St. Peter's College powered their way to score a morale boosting seven wicket victory over S. Thomas' College Mount Lavinia in their inter school cricket tournament match played at Bambalapitiya yesterday.

The Thomians put up an improved batting performance in their second innings but their efforts were not sufficient to prevent defeat as the Peterites were left with a target of just 83 runs at the end.

St. Peter's: 208 for 9 decl and 85 for 3 (D. Udugamasuriya 16, S. Wickremasekera 38, H. Fernando 19 n.o.).

Leg spinner Charith Keerthisinghe captured five for 53 to help Mahinda College dismiss Royal College for 146 runs in their first innings on the opening day of their inter school cricket tournament match played at Reid Avenue yesterday.

Maliyadeva College forced a draw to their inter school cricket tournament match against Isipatana played at Havelock Park yesterday.

Lakshan Mendis captured eight wickets for 44 to help Sri Sumangala MV Hikkaduwa register a six wicket win over P. D. S. Kularatne MV in their inter school cricket tournament match played at Hikkaduwa yesterday.
