Kaushalyan, four LTTEers killed

LTTE's Eastern Political wing leader Kaushalyan, his deputy Nedimaran together with three other Tiger cadres were killed in an ambush in Poonani, Batticaloa last night. According to military sources the top Tiger leader and party were returning after inspecting a tsunami displaced camp in the area when the ambush took place.

According to reports four others including two policemen who were providing back up security to the convoy were seriously injured in the attack.

According to Agency reports a former Northern Parliamentarian were among those who escaped with critical injuries.
