SLI offers free natural disaster cover The Sri Lanka Insurance (SLI) in a press release said that they will be offering a free natural disaster cover for motor policy holders. "We are issuing a free natural disaster cover for motor vehicles that are already covered for Floods, this will additionally cover motor policyholders for losses or damages due to natural disaster such as tsunamis (tidal waves), earthquakes, land slides, earth slips, cyclones, hurricanes, tornados, volcanic eruptions, storm and tempests effective from January 1, 2005 until the validity of the policy", an SLI spokesman said. Motor vehicles that are not covered for Floods will have a free natural disaster cover from January 1, 2005 to February 15, 2005. The policy holders should obtain the normal flood cover before the expiry of the free cover period if they wish to continue to be covered for perils stated above. All policyholders will receive an additional endorsement via post within next few days. Sri Lanka Insurance requests all its customers to contact the 24 hour call centre on (011) 2 357 357 for further details. Policyholders are already covered for loss of life or temporary or permanent disablement due to natural perils. They do not require to obtain additional natural disaster cover, the spokesman added. |
