Singer powers national team to World Cup 2005

With few weeks to go for the Women's World Cup 2005 in South Africa, the Sri Lanka national team, powered by Singer is brimming with confidence.

Eager and determined to perform better than in the previous World Cup 2000, the new-look team coached by national coach, Nihal Kodituwakku is going through hard training almost daily to ensure that the girls miss nothing.

They will view with even international teams for the coveted title organised by the International Women's Cricket Council and powered by the ICC as well.

A confident President, Gwen Herat, of Women's Cricket Association of Sri Lanka told the Daily News that the team is full of spirit and confidence, especially the new blood in the team who are a talented lot. Herat has no doubts that the Sri Lanka team will make it to the semis or even do better and go up in world ranking.
