Asian Junior Squash C'ship : 

Lankan girls placed fifth

Sri Lankan girls competing in the Asian Junior Squash Championships in Chennai, India came up with a better performance to beat Pakistan two games to one reach the fifth position. Randima Ranaweera lost to Sara Awar 9-0, 9-1, 9-0 in the first game.

Later Nirosha Guruge and Vidushi Gurunada defeated Maria Toor and Aliya Sarfraz to bring victory for Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile the boys from Sri Lanka beat Iran three games to nil. Earlier they lost to Singapore two games to nil.

Results

(Women): Sara Awar (Pak) beat Randima Ranaweera 9-0, 9-1, 9-0.

Nirosha Guruge (SL) beat Maria Toor (Pak) 9-3, 4-9, 9-5, 9-1.

Vidushi Gurunada (SL) beat Aliya Sarfraz (Pak) 9-6, 0-9, 9-6, 6-9, 9-7.
