Court orders investigation by Police Women's Bureau The Gangodawila Chief Magistrate and Additional District Judge Mrs. Padmini N. Ranawaka Gunatilleke on Tuesday ordered the Mirihana Police Children's and Women's Bureau to investigate into the complaint of alleged sexual harassment made against popular Actor Ranjan Ramanayake by a woman and submit a report to court on February 8. The complainant in this case is a married woman with a child resident at Mirihana Road, Nugegoda who is a directress attached to a reputed advertising firm in Colombo. In her complaint, she has alleged that Ranjan Ramanayake tried to molest her when she went to his house to discuss publicity matters regarding his (Ramanayake's) film, named 'One Shot'. Earlier, the Mirihana Police arrested Ramanayake and produced him before court and released on Rs. 50,000 personal bail. Mirihana Police, Children's and Women's Bureau, OIC Kusum Punchihewa is conducting further investigations. |
