Indo-Pak stars in live tsunami concert

NEW DELHI, Tuesday (AFP) More than 200 Indian and Pakistani film stars and artists will perform in a concert to raise funds for the tens of thousands of people affected by last month's Indian Ocean tsunamis.

The two film industries will come together for the first time on February 6 for the mega song-and-dance show in Bombay, home of Bollywood - the world's largest film industry, organisers said. The concert will feature some of Bollywood's top names, including legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan, superstar Shah Rukh Khan, macho hero Sunjay Dutt, former Miss World and popular actress Aishwarya Rai, Priyanka Chopra, Lara Dutta, Sameera Reddy and Esha Deol, among others.

Top Indian singers Sonu Nigam, Kumar Sanu and Rabbi will lend their voice to various songs on stage. Pakistan's film industry - named Lollywood after the city of Lahore - will be represented by stars such as Meera, Mona Rana, Raahat Ali and Waaris Ali, along with the band Strings.

Organisers said they have not yet decided whether to charge for the event's tickets.
