Sri Lanka will host the annual council meeting of the Territorial Council of Toastmasters of South Asia in 2005, the biggest toastmasters event to be held in Colombo and South Asia.

The SriLankan Airlines Toastmasters with nine toast masters clubs in Sri Lanka joined Toastmasters in India to form a Territorial Council of Toastmasters in South Asia in September 2004.

The SriLankan contingent comprised about 45 delegates, representing 11 clubs. SriLankan Toastmasters stole the show at the speech contest held on the final day, beating the Indian delegates to carry all the major medals home.

Pradeep Attanayake, Kapila Bandara, Anandhi Kanagaratnam and Prabath Thilakasena represented the SriLankan Airlines Toastmasters Club.

A two-day conference in September 2004, marked the official formation of the Territorial Council of Toastmasters in South Asia which was accredited by Toastmasters International USA.
