Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan, Ch. Amir Hussain has expressed his heartfelt grief over the tragic loss of life and property in Sri Lanka through a message addressed to his Sri Lankan counterpart W.J.M. Lokubandara, Speaker of Parliament. Following is the text of message from the Speaker, National Assembly of Pakistan: "I have been deeply grieved and shocked to learn about the tragic loss of lives and property caused by Tsunami tidal waves. We pray for the departed souls and our hearts go out in sympathy to the families of the victims. On behalf of the Members of National Assembly of Pakistan and on my own behalf, I express my heartfelt condolences to your Excellency and the bereaved families and also to the People of Sri Lanka. Almighty Allah may grant them fortitude and strengthen to bear this great loss. We deeply share with you this grief. I assure you, Excellency that the Government and the People of Pakistan will do their best to provide assistance, which the people of your country may require in this hour of distress. I pray for the speedy and full recovery of the injured. Please accept, Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration and regards", states a Pakistan High Commission press release. |
