GlaxoSmithKline in huge humanitarian effort In the aftermath of the unprecedented destruction caused by Tsunami, GlaxoSmithKline, a leading pharmaceutical company in the world has responded with unprecedented goodwill to the affected people in Sri Lanka. GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) - Sri Lanka came up with several relief initiatives from their Consumer and Pharmaceutical divisions. The consumer division donated more than Rs. one million worth of Panadol to the Ministry of Health and a further Rs. 1.5 million worth of nutritional products to various other agencies. The pharmaceuticals division contributed more than Rs. 5 million worth of medicine to the ministry and has contributed drugs with more than Rs. 250,000 to several doctors on request for relief work. |
