by Florence Wickramage The Director General of the Department of Wildlife Conservation (DWLC) Dayananda Kariyawasam requests parents or guardians of the 13-year-old Nuwan Appu from Kalawana rescued from Yala two days after the tsunami to come forward and claim the boy. At a joint operation wildlife officials conducted with the Army in search of bodies, Nuwan Appu was found stuck amidst a thicket in an unconscious state. On finding that he was still living, the boy was admitted to the Tissamaharama Hospital and later transferred to the Badulla Hospital for further treatment.
