UPFA keeps its pledge: Graduates recruited to public service from today

As a foremost pledge of the 'Country Forward' program of President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga's UPFA Government, recruiting unemployed graduates to the public service would be started from January 1, 2005.

A welcoming ceremony will be held at the Plantation Industries Ministry at 11 a.m. on January 3 to receive 320 graduates assigned for training in the Ministry under this program. Plantation Industries Minister Anura Priyadarshana Yapa, Deputy Minister Chamal Rajapakse, Ministry Secretary J. Abeywickrema and Chairmen, Director and Secretaries of Institutions that come under the Ministry would participate in the ceremony.
