Gold medallists and prize winners

B. M. Karunananda Pemasiri was awarded the Dr. Hewawitharana Memorial Prize for Physics for the Best Performance in Physics at the Special Degree Examination in Science 2003/2004 of the University of Peradeniya.

Pemasiri who obtained First Class Honours at this examination is the son of Mr. B. M. Upananda and Mrs. D. M. Karunawathi of 80/1, Rambawewa, Kanaththewewa and is an old boy of Sri Sumangala National College, Wariyapola.

Ms A. D. Sarangi Nirosha Priyajeevani Athukorala was awarded the M. D. Dassanayake Gold Medal for Botany for the Best Performance in Botany at the Special Degree Examination in Science 2003/2004 of the University of Peradeniya.

Ms Athukorala who obtained First Class Honours at this examination is the daughter of Mr. A. D. Kumaradasa and Mrs. K. R. Lalitha of 23/8, Pathingiya, Pallethalawinna, Katugastota and is an old girl of Girls' High School, Kandy.

H. M. Dhammika Bandara was awarded the Bhikaji Framji Gold Medal for the best performance in Chemistry and Sultanbawa Prize for the Best Performance in Organic Chemistry at the Special Degree Examination in Science 2003/2004 of the University of Peradeniya.

Bandara who obtained First Class Honours at this examination is the son of Prof. and Mrs. H. M. N. Bandara of No. 42/13, Pragathi Mawatha, Udaeriyagama, Peradeniya and is an old boy of Dharmaraja College, Kandy.

Ms Lakmali Gunasekara was awarded the Coomaraswamy Prize for Science for the best performance in Biological Sciences at the General Degree Examination in Science 2003/2004 of the University of Peradeniya.

Ms Gunasekera who obtained First Class Honours at this examination is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Gunasekera of No. 95/2, Dhammadassi Mawatha, Kandy and is an old girl of Mahamaya Girls' College, Kandy.

Ms Mohamed Hasan Fathima Rasmiya was awarded the Coomaraswamy Prize for Science for the best performance in Physical Sciences at the General Degree Examination in Science 2003/2004 of the University of Peradeniya.

Ms Rasmiya who obtained First Class Honours at this examination is the daughter of Mr. Mohamed Hasan and Mrs. Meharun Nisa of No. 257, Mosque Road, Madawala Bazaar, Madawala and is an old girl of Madeena Central College, Madawala.

Ms M. Z. F. Rismiya was awarded the Coomaraswamy Prize for Science for the Best Performance in Physical Sciences at the General Degree Examination in Science 2003/2004 of the University of Peradeniya.

Ms Rismiya who obtained First Class Honours at this examination is the daughter of Mrs. Thajun Nisa of No. 42, Meerippanna Road, Dharga Town and is an old girl of Zahira College, Dharga Town.
