The 'Development Emerging Team' scored a massive 379 for 6 wickets declared in the allocated (90) overs at the end of the first days play. With the ball not coming on to the bat due to the lack of pace in the pitch, the batsmen found run making difficult in the early part of the innings. Gihan De Silva, who started off his innings cautiously, was in a very aggressive mood towards the latter stage of his innings to help 'SLC' maintain a healthy run rate of (4.2) at the end of the innings. The openers Harsha Vithana and Amila Sadaruwan gave 'SLC' a solid opening stand for the first wicket of (63) runs. Defiant knocks by Harsha Vithana (55- 4x7 ), Kanchana Gunawardne (62), Jeremy Saravanamuttupule (75- 4x10), Gihan De Silva (82 not out- 4x4- 6x4) impressed with the bat. |
