by Sarath Malalasekera Colombo Judicial Medical Officer Dr. L. B. L. de Alwis who performed the autopsy of Colombo High Court Judge Sarath Ambepitiya said that he found six bullet marks on the body. Five bullets marks were found on the body of Inspector R. A. Upali, the MSD security officer of the Justice Ambepitiya was also shot dead near Justice Ambepitya's residence on November 19 afternoon. Colombo Crimes Division Director Senior SP Sarath Lugoda who is conducting investigations into the killing of Justice Ambepitiya and Inspector Upali said that they had recorded statements from fifty persons including the driver of the hired vehicle in which the assailants were travelling. Colombo Chief Magistrate and Additional District Judge Ms. Sarojini Kusala Weerawardena who is conducting the Magisterial inquiry into the killings had also recorded several statements in connection with the killings. Crimes and Criminal Intelligence and Narcotics DIG Jayantha Wickremaratne and Colombo DIG Sirisena Herath are directing investigations into the killing of Justice Sarath Ambepitiya and Inspector Upali of the MSD. |
