SriLankan offers holiday Package to Karachi SriLankan Airlines has launched an attractive holiday package to Karachi which will be on offer till the 30th of November. The offer of a two nights three days stay includes accommodation at the five star Sheraton Hotel on a double sharing basis with complementary breakfasts and transfers to and from the airport. Single accommodation rates are also available and three nights and four day packages are also on offer. SriLankan Airlines relaunched services to Karachi in June 2003 with the aim of promoting Sri Lanka as a holiday destination for Pakistanis and attracting MICE tourism from Pakistan. Three flights a week are scheduled to maximise convenience for passengers transiting Colombo travelling to the Maldives, Singapore, Kuala Lampur, Bangkok and Hong Kong. This is in keeping with the airline's aim of promoting Colombo as a hub. SriLankan is the biggest international operator in to India with 73 flights a week to ten destinations and plans to operate more destinations in India and launch flights to China in the summer. The Karachi package is one of many packages the airline offers in low or off peak seasons to its popular destinations. The airline's packages to India and Maldives have been among its more popular packages. The holiday package to Karachi provides the opportunity to experience the attractions of the city which include shopping at the thriving bazaars for leather goods, snake skin purses, silk scarves, handicrafts and carpets or sight seeing. The Quaid-i-Azam Mausoleum, a monument to Pakistan's founder Mohamed Ali Jinnah and the remarkable white marbled Defence Housing Society Mosque are among the attractions on offer while the 4000 year Moenjadaro civilization of the Indus valley and extraordinary landscapes would also entice visitors. SriLankan Airlines has emerged as an award winning airline with accolades for being the Best Airline in Central Asia for the fourth consecutive year. Skytrax Airline surveys which also presented the airline with awards for being the runner up for Best Cabin Staff in 2003 and for having the Worlds Friendliest Cabin Crew in 2002 are recognised internationally as the leading global monitor of passenger opinions. The airline was also presented an operational excellence award by Airbus Industrie for being the most efficient operator of Airbus A330 in the small fleet category among all the world's airlines operating A330s in 2002 and 2003. The airline recently won the TTG Asia award for being the best airline in South Asia. |
