Issuing a media release the Minister said that since the inception of the Dahasak Maha Wev project the UNP was making various baseless allegations and was engaged in an unsuccessful attempt to discredit the public confidence made on this project. The release said that UNP Parliamentarians Dayasiri Jayasekera, Kabir Hashim, Gamini Jayawickrama Perera and Hemakumara Nanayakkara have become the key actors of the alleged UNP exercise launched to undermine this nation-building exercise. Minister Dissanayake challenges the UNP MPs sans whatever the position they hold in for an open debate rather than making various allegations with malicious intention on Government's tank project which is being successfully operated at present. "If the UNP comes for an open debate, it will enable the public to know various frauds and malpractices committed by the Ministers who held the post of Agriculture and Livestock Ministry before him and says that will also help to expose the work the other respective ministries during the UNF regime. This will also provide an opportunity to the public to know the progress of the Dahasak Maha Wev project, the release added. |
