Bourse continues to dip

The downward trend continued with the All Share Price Index (ASPI) moving down by 26.9 points from 1518.9 points to 1492.0 points. The Milanka Price Index (MPI) moved down by 48.6 points from 2172.3 points to 2123.7 points.

A total turnover of Rs. 186.5 million was recorded. The Banks Finance and Insurance sector accounted for 25% of the total turnover while Hotels and Travels sector accounted for 21%.

Foreign investors continued to be net buyers in the market with purchases of Rs. 37.6 million and sales of Rs. 11.8 million.

A total of 9.6 million shares were traded.

Banks Finance, Insurance and Hotels and Travels sectors accounted for 43% of the total volume.
