ICDL celebrates registration of four millionth candidate

ECDL Foundation, the global governing body and the licensing authority for European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL/ICDL) recently celebrated the registration of the four millionth candidate for the ICDL qualification. The four millionth skills card was presented to the Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey at the recently concluded CEO forum at Istanbul.

In more than 70% of the countries across the globe, the ECDL is internationally recognised as the world's leading end user computer skills certification program. Known as the International Computer Driving Licence (ICDL) in countries outside Europe, the qualification is governed by the ECDL Foundation, a non profit organisation that provides vendor neutral certification.

ICDL is a test of practical skills and competencies and consists of seven separate modules covering computer theory and practice.

The modules are Concepts of IT, Using the Computer and Managing Files, Word processing, Spreadsheets, Database, Presentation and Information and Communication.

ICDL is promoted in Sri Lanka by testIT Ltd., the Local Business Partner of the ICDL Asia Pacific. The Computer Society of Sri Lanka (CSSL) is the Accreditation Agency for Sri Lanka.
