Rs. 30 m from President's Fund to develop Muslim inhabited areas

President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga has released Rs. 30 million from the President's Fund to develop infrastructure facilities, including Hosing and water supply in rural areas in the East and the Polonnaruwa District inhabited by the Muslim community, to mark the Ramazan fasting period.

Arrangements have been made to utilize these funds and complete the development work as intended before the end of the current fasting season.

Mowlana ill

Governor of the Western Provincial Council Alavi Mowlana was admitted to Asha Central hospital Colombo on Saturday evening. According to hospital sources Mr. Mowlana is undergoing treatment at the intensive care unit of the hospital.

Appeal for help

Baby Imasha Rasanjali at No. 13/2, Yahampath Mawatha, Maharagama suffering from an acute heart ailment needs to undergo an operation to save her life. The cost of operation is around Rs. 160,000.
