Indoor Cricket World Cup umpires panel The Tournament Directorate of the Hutch Indoor Cricket World Cup 2004 has confirmed a nine-member panel of umpires for the forthcoming Fifth World Cup to be held at Austasia International Indoor Cricket Complex, Thalawatugoda from October 9 to 16, 2004. Four out of nine umpires are from the host country Sri Lanka are: Hiran de Mel, who is also the Assistant Tournament Director who has umpired in the World Cup 2002 in Wellington, New Zealand, while Sachithra Siribaddana has international umpiring experience through inbound tours. Chaminda Galagedera and Nayanajith Chaminda are the two freshers to the international scene. There are four umpires who have officiated in World Cups so far namely; Napia Steuart, Rob Bennett of New Zealand, Mark Nickl of Australia and Sri Lanka's Hiran de Mel, while Steuart has officiated in all the World Cup tournaments so far.
