Top Chinese official here Oct. 7 to 10 Wu Guanzheng, a Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) will undertake a goodwill visit to Sri Lanka from October 7 to 10 at the invitation of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse, states a press release. Guanzheng also holds the post of Secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the CPC. He will be accompanied by five senior members of the Chinese Communist Party and senior officials. The Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee is the highest ranking body of the Communist Party of China and has nine members including President Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao. During his visit, Guanzheng will meet with the Prime Minister for talks at Temple Trees and visit the Parliament for a meeting with the Speaker and representatives of political parties. He will also have meetings with the Foreign Minister and the Opposition Leader. Guanzheng will pay a courtesy call on President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga at the President's House. Guanzheng will also visit Kandy and the BMICH. |
