Maha Nayake Thera's advice sought on peace talks : Thamilselvan Bentota group correspondent LTTE Political Wing Leader, S. P. Thamilselvan said they sought the advice of the Maha Nayake Thera of the Malwatte Chapter regarding the conduct of peace talks. Meeting journalists from the Southern Province at the Kilinochchi LTTE Office, he said. In the prevailing circumstances they were unable to travel to Kandy to meet the Maha Nayake Thera. The Maha Nayake Thera earlier expressed willingness to meet the LTTE for talks to bring back the LTTE to the negotiating table. The LTTE invited members of the Maha Sangha including the Maha Nayaka Thera to Kilinochchi. He said they have prepared all facilities for a visit. Southern Province United Media Association President, W. T. J. S. Kaviratne, Secretary Richmond Wijesekera and National Peace Council Coordinator, S. P. Nathan also spoke. |
