Suntel connects Lanka's largest IP VPN network

Suntel recently implemented an IPVPN solution for Ceylinco Insurance Co. Ltd (General), a statement from the company said.

Suntel IP VPN benefits customers by enabling them to set up their own private networks across shared and managed IP networks or the internet, providing higher security and a cost effective approach granting access to information resources by connecting customers, suppliers, branch offices and remote locations. Therefore through an IP VPN network customers will be offered significant cost savings, instant access and most of all convenience.

Setting up their own private network, gives their customers' value added services such as the single number concept, where all branches have a uniformed telephone number and thereby when a customer calls it gets connected instantly to the branch closest to caller, an intra and extranet, online payments and web based insurance policies.

Suntel implemented Ceylinco's IP VPN solution to provide wide area network connectivity to all branches.

Suntel who was the first to introduce IP VPN to Sri Lanka in 2002 has up to now connected many corporate giants such as Clipsal, Dimo, DSI Group, MAS Group, NTB. NDB, Lanka Equities, John Keells Holdings via this service.

Suntel's IP VPN network is powered by CISCO and built using MPLS technology (Multi Protocol Label Switching) which can provide virtual networks for different customers in such a manner that external parties cannot penetrate into the VPN, giving all Suntel's customers reduced cost of communication infrastructure, increased reliability and security, easy connectivity to remote locations, improved communication within group, site to site connectivity for branches and the opportunity to broaden their geographic presence, the statement said.
