Nawaloka shares boost Bourse

Buying interest on Nawaloka shares continued to boost the Bourse yesterday. Nawaloka shares worth over Rs. 4.1 million changed hands at a high of Rs 34.00.

Stock Brokers said that the market was also dominated with heavy buying interest on JKH, Trans Asia and East West Properties. They said that investors prefer to go for selective buying interest as the market is confined to fundamentals.

The All Share Price Index jumped to Rs 1,419.10 points from 1,413.37 points on Friday. The Milanka Price Index slipped to 2,110.83 points. The turnover for the day was Rs 304,750,431. Domestic purchases were Rs. 2,891 million and foreign purchases Rs 256 million.

East West, Walk and Greig , Pegasus Hotels, Ceylinco Sec and Tea Services were the top five gainers.
