Chandrasena, MP by Chula Bandara Kulasekera The former Estate Infrastructure and Community Development Deputy Minister S. M. Chandrasena who sacrificed his position for the sustenance of the Freedom Alliance Government and for the security of the country said that he was prepared to sacrifice more things than his Deputy Ministership for the stability of the country and the government. The former Deputy Minister made these comments refuting the spreading of false rumours by the reactionary forces following his resignation from the post he held on a request made by President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga. The decision by the eight members of the CWC including its Leader Arumugam Thondaman to support the Government is commendable and timely at this juncture when the Opposition was highlighting the absence of a ruling party majority in Parliament." The implicit faith we have in the President is not shaken an iota. I continue to remain with the people of Horowpothana with all my humility", he said. The need of a National Government is the common cry of the day. Under the present conditions we virtually attained that stage now. The SLFP, the JVP, the Samasamaja Party, the Communist Party, National United Alliance, the MEP and the CWC are all in one group today." This by virtue is an all party Government", he added. |
