Deadly injection brought to remand prison

Colombo Additional Magistrate Wikum A. Kaluarachchi has directed Borella Police to obtain a report from the Government Analyst in connection with the cyanide syringe which had been brought to the Welikada Remand Prison to murder a remand prisoner.

Remand prisoner Chinthamani Mohottige Thusara Chandana had complained to prison authorities that there was a conspiracy to kill him by poisoning.

The cyanide syringe was taken into custody by prison authorities.

The Magistrate also directed Borella police to conduct further investigations to arrest the suspect and produce him before court.

On an application by the Borella Police the Magistrate ordered them to submit a further report in connection with their investigations on the next date, December 14.
