'Plastic Today' exhibition and conference in October

"Plastic Today", Sri Lanka's first ever Plastics and Packaging Exhibition and Conference will be held from October 8 to 10 at the BMICH. Organised by Buysell Interactions (Pvt) Ltd, Chennai, India and co-organised by Intertrade Lanka Management (Pvt) Ltd, the three-day Exhibition and Conference will feature seminars by high profile industry speakers together with one to one meetings, and is expected to attract more than 15,000 visitors from the South East Asian region.

The industry's key areas to be showcased at this exhibition will be Raw Materials (petrochemicals, polymers and resins, blends and alloys), Plastic Processing Machinery Quality Control and Testing Equipment, Packaging Machinery, Processing Equipment for Printing, Plating, Lamination and Decoration, Semi Finished and Finished Plastic products.

Plastic Today is supported by the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka (FCCISL), the Plastics and Rubber Institute of Sri (PRI) and India's Central Institute of Plastics Engineering and Technology (CIPET), Gujarat State Plastics Manufacturers' Association (GSPMA) and the Organisation of Plastic Processors of India (OPPI).

The organisers said that this exhibition will provide an ideal platform for all exhibitors - manufacturers, mould makers, fabricators, importers, exporters and traders to showcase their products and technology, consolidate their market presence and forge business alliances and joint ventures with local and overseas buyers.

The Bilateral Trade Agreement between India and Sri Lanka has boosted two-way trade between both countries. Sri Lanka, the organisers said, is increasingly seeing the advantages of tying up with India, both as a source for procuring goods and as a resource for technology transfer and joint ventures.
