38 teams for inter-club soccer tourney in Trincomalee

The inter-club and inter-school football championships 2004 organised by the Trincomalee Football League (TFL) and sponsored by the Seylan Bank and Ceylinco Insurance commenced on Thursday (12th) and the finals will be played at the McHeyzer Stadium on August 20 (Friday).

Thirty eight clubs affiliated to the Trincomalee Football League will partake at this tournament and 12 schools will vie for the championship. Some matches will be played at Kinniya, Tampalakamam and Kuchcaveli.

Championship cups, runners up cups and individual cups and other football equipment were presented to the President of the Trincomalee Football League Senior Superintendent of Police Trincomalee Upali Hewage by the Manager, Trincomalee branch of the Seylan Bank K. Amaradeva.

Chief Executive Director of Ceylinco Insurance and Joint Deputy Chairman, Seylan Bank Rajkumar Renganathan will participate as the chief guest at the finals and President Football Federation of Sri Lanka Senior DIG S. G. Randeni will be the guest of honour.
