Gunasekera said. Addressing a news briefing after paying a courtesy call on Ven. Thibbotuwawe Sri Siddhartha Sumangala Mahanayake Thera of the Malwatte Chapter, he said if the President is desirous of representing Parliament, she has no difficulty, since she is in a position to dissolve Parliament and later represent Parliament after contesting the general election. "Any amendment to the constitution should include a solution to the ethnic problem, and unless and until a permanent solution is found to this issue no amendment could be introduced", he said. We are stagnating in every effort because all succeeding governments never continued policies of the previous one", the Mahanayake Thera said. The Mahanayake Thera also stressed the need to amend the system of Parliamentary election. |
