UCLL wins National Productivity awards Union Chemicals Lanka Ltd. (UCLL) won first place under the small scale - Manufacturing category at the National Productivity Awards 2003 organised by the National Productivity Secretariat in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour Relations and Foreign Employment. UCLL was the only winner in this category at this year's competition and it won a certificate of commendation in the previous year's competition. The first National Productivity Competition was held in 1993 and since then, on an annual basis organisations were recognised for excellence in productivity. The objectives of the competition were to create awareness of the benefits and concepts of enterprise level productivity, identify high productivity organisations and promote labour management cooperation. The evaluation criteria of the competition include Leadership, People, Strategies, Processes, Customer and Social results and Productivity results among others. |
