CMM launches official website The Company of Master Mariners (CMM) of Sri Lanka held its Annual General Meeting on June 26 at the Tangerine Beach Hotel, Kalutara. The official website of the Association "www.cmmsrilanka.com" was also launched on the same day. Some of the key objectives of the Association are: * To maintain and improve the status of Master Mariners and the profession of seafarers, * To provide a central consultative body of Master Mariners who will be available to the Government of Sri Lanka and to ship owners and the public for information and advice on all matters concerning or affecting the Merchant Navy. The association being accepted as a member of the 'Organization of Professional Association' will provide CMM members an ideal opportunity to contribute towards further development of the industry. Following Office bearers were elected: President - Capt O.L. Samaranayake; Vice Presidents - Capt. Ravi Jayawickrema and Capt. Shesha Athuraliya; Honorary Secretary - Capt. Lalantha Senanayake; Asst. Secretary - Capt. Ajantha Abeysinghe; Honorary Treasurer - Capt. Sanath Munasinghe; Asst. Treasurer - Capt. Anura Bandara Herath; Honorary Editor - Capt D. J. Amarasuriya. Executive Committee - Capt Ryle Mendis, Capt Nalaka Jayakody, Capt Mahendra Ranatunge, Capt Hazari Hafeel, Capt B.V. D. H. Sagarachandra, Capt Rohith Fernandao, Capt Daminda Samaranayake, Capt Nirmal Silva. |
