Rasika excels for English minor county Newport by Bernard Perera Rasika Priyadharshana who is presently playing in the Minor Counties in England representing Newport for the third successive year has come up with excellent performance to help his side win all six games played upto date. Rasika playing in the game against Market Grading was able to reach a milestone claiming nine wickets for just 46 runs, which is also the best bowling display in the minor counties league after a period of 50 years. During this game he came up with a good batting performance scoring an unbeaten 32 runs. This season he has an aggregate of 260 runs in six matches which includes two half centuries. He has become the best bowler for Newport with 25 wickets also in the same number of games. Rasika represented Ragama CC as an all-rounder in the local tournament conducted by Sri Lanka Cricket. |
