by Sarath Malalasekera

Four prosecution witnesses in the Dhammika Amarasinghe murder case failed to identify the three suspects at an identification parade held by Colombo Acting Magistrate P.D.P. Perera at the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court premises yesterday.

The three suspects are Nihal Peiris, A. Donald Ranjith Perera and Samarasinghe Arachchige Piyatissa. They were later produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate and Additional District Judge Ms. Sarojini Kusala Weerawardena and remanded till July 26.

Dhammika was killed while being taken out of Court No. 6 immediately after his case was postponed. Colombo DIG Sirisena Herath is directing investigations conducted by Colombo Crime Division (CCD) Director Senior SP Sarath Lugoda and assisted by ASP Palitha Fernando with Inspector Nuwan Wedasinghe, OIC, CCD and a special team of the CCD.
