By Bernard Perera

Strong Jupiters SC from Negombo who held Java Lane SC to a two all draw last weekend at Negombo will travel down to Colombo to take on Victory SC at City League grounds today. Kick off will be at 4.30 p.m. Jupiters SC are sure to give the Colombo Club a good run with their forwards in peak form.

Meanwhile Java Lane SC who are familiar with the ground conditions and more spectator support also can make a match of it and still can stay among the top along with hometown rivals Saunders and Negombo Youth SC who still leads the table with an unbeaten record.

Tomorrow's matches will see the table leaders Negombo Youth SC meet Matara SC at Negombo. Here the host team have the advantage over visitors who has yet to came out with a better show. A win or a draw will still keep the host team on top.

Last weekend Negombo team minus three of their senior players held in grimly to draw against their closest rivals Saunders SC to nil all at Sugathadasa Stadium.

York SC from Kandy who stunned the high riding Ratnam SC last week take on second placed unbeaten Saunders at Sebastians ground Kandana.

Saunders SC who play their second game on this ground has attracted lot of spectators from the area. In the last game nearly five thousand spectators gathered to watch the Colombo club play. This goes to prove that Kit Premier League soccer in gathering momentum even in outstations.

Ratnam SC who stayed at the second slot until last weekend, and went down after the defeat by Kandy York SC will have to face a big battle on Sunday when they confront Sri Lanka Army at the City League ground.

If Ratnam is to come on top they have to achieve victory. Even a draw is not sufficient for them to come back to place where they occupied earlier.

But on the other hand win or draw for Army could put them around two steps up on the table.

The other matches scheduled for Sunday are Old Bens vs Police at Police Park. Old Bens toppled Victory SC 2-1 to gain a morale boosting win. This match will be of vital importance for both teams.

Renown SC who outclassed Police SC 1-0 two days ago take on debutants New Youngs SC from Wennappuwa.

The match is scheduled to be played at Sports Ministry ground Reid Avenue.
