National School Principals meet

Principals of 45 leading National Schools met with the secretary and senior officials of the Ministry of Education yesterday.

The Principals discussed the key issues that confront them in relation to school admissions. The Ministry of Education officials clarified many issues, including the correct interpretation of the School Admission Circular No. 2004.18, the Education Ministry said.

The Ministry decided to invite a representative group of Principals from among those who attended the meeting to advice the Ministry on certain areas that needed to be included into future circulars and work with the National Schools Director on developing National Schools.

The Secretary explained the Quality Development Programme of National Schools that had already begun.

Regular meetings of this nature will be held every two weeks at the Ministry of Education. The Ministry has introduced a special campaign to create awareness among parents on the existing rules and regulations about school admissions for 2005.
