Austrian funding to rehabilitate water supply schemes The Government of Austria under its Export Credit Program has offered credit of Euro 9,700,000 for the rehabilitation and augmentation of Weligama, Hambantota, ambalantota and Kataragama Water Supply Schemes. Under the project, Potable Water Treatment Plants piping and equipment will be provided to implement the four water supply schemes. The proposed package of water Treatment Plants and Items of works associated with them, once implemented will develop systems that are operational producing drinking water to WHO standards. The loan funds will also be utilised to prepare feasibility studies for the rehabilitation of the Water Treatment Plants at Badulla and Bandarawela. |
