More housemaids to return from Kuwait

Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment is currently engaged in the task of repatriating Sri Lankan female employees stranded and languishing under detention in Middle Eastern countries.

Arrangements have been made for the return of 105 such housemaids from the Kuwait Detention Camp on June 25 & 26, on Kuwait Airline flights. 20 such female employees returned to the island under similar circumstances yesterday (June 24).

The SLBFE will help those who are entitled to Insurance benefits to receive such benefits.

This situation is not a matter for complacency, and legislation will be introduced to prevent recurrence of such incidents, stated SLBFE Chairman Karunasena Hettiarachchi.
